THE HOUSE LEAGUE RULES 2024

General:
The House League sessions are running twice a week. 
Access to WhatsApp and booking is required to attend each league season. 
Each participant should commit to attend the house league at least 4 times during the season.

Schedule:
Start date - May 1, 2024,
End date - nets come down.

Monday and Wednesday nights, 7:00 pm (sharp) - 8:40pm. 
Each session guarantees 3 games 0.5 hours each.

Monday night session - all skill levels for recreational play are welcome. 
The House League lead of the session is Fred.  

Wednesday night session – the advanced skills level players are welcome. 
The House League lead of the night is Kate.

NOTE: There will be NO cancellations for the House League sessions that falls on long weekend Mondays.
Cancellations are due to weather conditions or attendance (less than 8 players) will be communicated by 3 pm on the WhatsApp group only.

Format: 
  • Mixed doubles. 
  • Player’s position on the court will be determined by the House League lead of the session to ensure best matches based on the levels of the players present.
  • Usually courts 1 and 2 are reserved for more advanced players.
  • New balls are provided by the club every other game.
 
Availability:
  • Open for skilled adults (16+) only. 
  • All 4 courts are booked for the House League sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 pm till 8-30 pm.

Cost and Registration:
  • The cost is 10 dollars for the season. Available forms of payments are cash to the House League lead or an e-transfer to NTC.
  • Access to WhatsApp for registration is required.
  • Registration is open throughout the season of 2024, there is no due date. However, it is recommended to register at the time of joining the club and start the House League from the beginning of the season.  
  • Once the payment is complete, please email to Kate at sapoz100@yahoo.ca with your cell ## that will be used to access the booking group “NTC House League 2024” on WhatsApp. 

Booking your House League session on WhatsApp:
  • 16 spots are available for booking for each House League session.
  • Booking for Monday night is open at 8 pm on previous Wednesday. 
  • Booking for Wednesday night is open at 8 pm on previous Monday. 
  • The first booking will be open at 8 pm on April 29, 2024, for the first game on May 1, 2024.
  • Once the player is booked, he/she guarantees his attendance of the session.
  • NO SHOWS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
 
How does the booking system work?

  • In the group on WhatsApp called “NTC House League 2024” the following will be posed by the chat administrator: 
  • “The registration for Monday* night on May 1, 2023*, at 7 pm is now open” 
    *highlighted in yellow information that will be changed accordingly during the season as only once registration for a particular session will be open at the time.
  • Once the booking is open, anyone who would like to attend the House League session on the noted date can start reservation of a spot at the court. 
  • There are 16 spots in total. To reserve a spot, the player will enter “1”, the second “2” and so on until the number “16” is reached. Then, the registration closes automatically. Entries 17, 18 or else are invalid and will be deleted by the chat administrator (Kate).

NOTE: new for 2024, there is a new feature for your convenience. 

Once the registration reached 16, you can enter “spare”. This will mean that you are available to step in should any last-minute cancellations are required. It is a responsibility of the player who already reserved his spot but need to cancel last minute to contact a “spare” player directly to confirm that he will cover for him. NO CHANGES IN THE REGISTRATION are required in this case, however, once confirmed, the “spare” should remove his message from the chat. Any questions – please contact Kate. 

The group chat should be kept free from any chats, questions, discussions – keep it off-line. Use the app for bookings only. Any chats, or unrelated messages will be deleted by the chat administrator. For any questions or comments contact Kate directly.

However, in a rare circumstance when a player needs to withdraw and there are no “spare” available to cover, it can be done by entering a previous number, so everyone will see that there is still a spot to book. For example, the registration is at 14, and you need to cancel your previous entry. You will enter “13”. 

NOTE: last minute cancellations are not welcomed by the players.
